WOAH

The Working Group on Antimicrobial Resistance (“AMRWG”) was established by the Director General through the adoption of Resolution No. 14  at the 87th WOAH General Session (2019).  This was in line with the recommendations of the OIE 2nd Global Conference on Antimicrobial Resistance, which help to ensure the sustainability of WOAH’s Strategy on Antimicrobial Resistance and Prudent Use. The purpose of the AMRWG is to maintain a global perspective and foresight on antimicrobial resistance under a One Health approach. Further information about its purpose and responsibilities is available within the Terms of Reference.

The AMRWG is composed of internationally recognised experts, who are highly motivated and committed in the field of antimicrobial resistance. As WOAH continues to strive for geographical diversity and gender balance, membership should lead to a balanced and adequate representation of its five regions (Africa, the Americas, Asia & Pacific, Europe and the Middle East). Taking into consideration the future composition of the AMRWG, this call is targeting candidates from the Asia and Pacific regions.
