Taking a multisectoral, One Health approach is necessary to address both
emerging and endemic (often neglected) health threats at the human-animal environment interface (such as zoonotic influenza, viral hemorrhagic fevers, and diseases caused by coronaviruses including MERS and COVID-19).

Such diseases continue to have major impacts on health, livelihoods, and economies, and cannot be effectively addressed by one sector alone.
