Simulation Exercise: African Swine Fever in Peru
18 and 19 November 2021
Dr Eva Luz Martinez Bermudez, Delegate to the OIE and Director General of the National Agricultural Health Service of Peru, informed the OIE that on 18 and 19 November 2021 a field simulation exercise entitled “Simulation of Emergency Response to African Swine Fever” will take place in the constitutional province of Callao, district of Ventanilla.
The objective of this simulation exercise is to strengthen management capacities in the timely and efficient response to an emergency due to the occurrence of African Swine Fever, reducing the economic and health impacts that could be caused by the introduction of the virus. This simulation exercise is aimed at professionals of the Official Service and private practice professionals.
