Simulation Exercise: Foot and mouth disease in Peru-3

Dr Oscar M. Domínguez Falcón, Director General for Animal Health, National Animal Health Service (SENASA), Ministry of Agriculture of Peru, informed the OIE that a field simulation exercise on foot and mouth disease will take place in the city of Jaén, Cajamarca, from 20 to 24 September 2010.

The aim of this simulation exercise called “International simulation on an occurrence of foot and mouth disease at the border”, which will be conducted with the participation of professionals from the Veterinarian Authorities of AGROCALIDAD* in Ecuador and SENASAG** in Bolivia, is to strengthen the management capacities of private and public sector professionals in regard to maintaining the foot and mouth disease status.
