Simulation exercise: Foot and mouth disease in (Republic of) Türkiye
3 to 7 October and 24 to 28 October 2022
Dr. Durali KOÇAK, Delegate to WOAH and Director of the General Directorate of Food and Control at the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Türkiye, informed WOAH that the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry will organise two simulation exercises on Footh and Mouth Disease. The joint real-scale simulation exercises will take place from 3 to 7 October 2022 in Van, and from 24 to 28 October 2022 in Tunceli, to maintain the response skills of the Veterinary Services.
The objectives of simulation are:
- To test the FMD Contingency Plan and to train staff on its implementation,
- To test operational response arrangements,
- To examine the liaison and interdependencies between the key operational partners,
- To consider the economic impacts.
The simulation will include table-top and field exercises.
