Documentation and Archives Centre

The Documentation and Archives Centre manages the resource materials and archives of the Organisation. It aims to collect, reference and provide access to the relevant information for internal staff, veterinary services of WOAH Members and any individual seeking information on WOAH’s activities and animal diseases control in the world.

The Centre covers the following topics: Veterinary Medicine, One Health, Animal Health, Animal Welfare, Veterinary Services, Control Programs, Epidemiology, Virology, Animal Production, Statistics, International Trade, Veterinary Legislation and Veterinary History.

Documentation

WOAH documentation includes the following resources:

  • External periodicals, books and reports
  • Reports published in the WOAH Bulletin since its creation (1927)
  • Articles from the Scientific and Technical Review since its creation (1982)
  • WOAH Animal Health Standards 
  • Technical Items presented to the World Assembly of Delegates
  • General Sessions Reports, including Resolutions and recommendations adopted by Regional Commissions and the World Assembly of Delegates since 1924 
  • Reports from the Specialist Commissions, Working Groups and Ad hoc Groups
  • Conference Proceedings, Seminars, Workshops, Consultations, Training Courses, Missions and Meetings officially or unofficially organised by WOAH or together with other Organisations

Archives

WOAH Archives manages the life cycle of working documents and archives produced by the Organization. It also collects documents received under agreements with WOAH’s partner, such as the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). They enable to retrace the development of the Organisation and reflect the history of veterinary medicine and animal diseases control around the world for over 100 years.
