Specialist Commissions
The World Organisation for Animal Health has four Specialist Commissions: the Aquatic Animal Health Standards Commission, the Biological Standards Commission, the Scientific Commission for Animal Diseases and the Terrestrial Animal Health Standards Commission.
Together, the Specialist Commissions play a key role in the development and revision of the World Organisation for Animal Health International Standards, collaborate with its global scientific network, are responsible for the official recognition of animal health status, provide advice on epidemiology, prevention and control of animal diseases, and deal with scientific and technical issues related to the above.
The members of each Commission meet twice a year to discuss their work program. Reports of Specialist Commission meetings are published in English, French and Spanish on the WOAH website and include links to relevant reports from Working Groups and ad hoc Groups.
