Bovine genital campylobacteriosis
General provisions
Standards for diagnostic tests are described in the Terrestrial Manual.
Recommendations for the importation of female bovines for breeding
Veterinary Authorities of importing countries should
require the presentation of an international veterinary certificate attesting
that:
the animals are virgin heifers;
or
the animals were kept in a herd in which no case of bovine genital campylobacteriosis has been declared; and/or
for animals which have been mated, the culture of vaginal mucus for the presence of the causal agent of bovine genital campylobacteriosis proved negative.
Recommendations for the importation of bulls for breeding
Veterinary Authorities of importing countries should
require the presentation of an international veterinary certificate attesting
that:
the animals:
have never been used for natural
service; or
have only mated virgin heifers; or
were kept in an establishment in
which no case of bovine
genital campylobacteriosis has been declared;
the semen and preputial specimen cultures and/or the associated tests for the presence of the causal agent of bovine genital campylobacteriosis were negative.
Recommendations for the importation of bovine semen
Veterinary Authorities of importing countries should require the presentation of an international veterinary certificate attesting that:
the donor animals:
have never been used for natural service; or
have only mated virgin heifers; or
were kept in an establishment or artificial insemination centre where no case of bovine genital campylobacteriosis has been reported;
the culture of semen and preputial specimens for the presence of the causal agent of bovine genital campylobacteriosis proved negative.
