En 1924, 28 nations fondatrices se sont réunies pour faire face à une préoccupation commune – la santé et le bien-être des animaux dont dépendent nos sociétés à une époque où les échanges commerciaux portant sur les animaux et les produits d’origine animale connaissaient une expansion massive.

Why do countries struggle to implement aquatic animal standards? 🐠 This year for hashtag#WorldAquaticAnimal day, we are talking about the barriers that countries encounter when it comes to better aquatic animal health.
We encourage countries to accord higher priority, invest more and develop stronger legislation to secure the future of aquatic animals. Animal health is everyone`s health.

Human decisions, such as industrial farming, can potentially impact #wildlife health and conservation efforts. In the case of Kruger National Park, we see that not only livestock can pose a danger to wildlife, but also how a human disease can impact animals negatively.

Although FMD is not readily transmissible to humans, it is a transboundary animal disease that deeply affects the production of livestock. 73% of people surveyed in communities where the life-saving programme was aired indicated that they listened to EBO-SURSY Radio regularly and followed the programme several times a week.
